The picturesque Lardner Park near Warragul, was the location for the 2014 Australasian Rescue Challenge, held over a number of days in late July, where Road Rescue crews from all over Australia and Asia competed against each other in a range of scenarios.

CFA's Werribee Fire Brigade Rescue Team, comprising of Team Leader Rob Mitchell, Medics Michael Wells and Trevor Weston, and crew of Mark Mummery, Adrian Kendall, and Lino Zulian (emergencies of Brett Menzies and Daniel May), pitted their wealth of experience in road crash rescue, against crews from as far away as Hong Kong and Singapore.

The weekend was also a chance to inspect the newest in road rescue equipment, listen in on a symposium, or get hands on experience trying new techniques in the learning centre, on some of the newest cars on the road, kindly donated by Holden.
