Wildlife friendly fencing

Wildlife Victoria is urging anyone who is replacing fencing destroyed during the recent bushfires to consider wildlife friendly options.

The charity advises that fencing, post and rail fences should be made from wood or plastic and existing strands of barbed wire should be removed. This is the safest option that will ensure wildlife are not killed or grievously harmed at your perimeter.

Wildlife Victoria is a charity organisation committed to reducing the suffering of wildlife by providing an emergency response service for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife across Victoria. This vital community service is supported by over 1000 trained and experienced volunteers, other wildlife groups and generous vets.
