Congratulations to all our talented shutterbugs who entered our inaugural National Volunteer Week Photo Competition.

The stories and insights into the lives came to life through the visual imagery of the entries, capturing in a snapshot the essence of CFA values, teamwork and the many hats our volunteers wear.

Each entry was considered for its impact, storytelling, creativity and reflection of our values.  It was a close competition.

Taking out the winning prize is Captain Rob Waters from Montrose Brigade, whose entry is titled ‘Always ready for you’. Capturing the evolution of a fire call, we see an everyday activity being enjoyed, to the beeping of an incoming text, the springing into motion of grabbing your gear, heading to the station to meet your team and taking action to resolve an incident. We all know that roller coaster!

So when you’re stopping by CFA headquarters reception take a few moments to enjoy the pictures that paint a1,000 words. Make sure you catch the entries from Goornong, Macedon, Wangaratta North, Traralgon, Warneet-Blind, Caroline Springs, Rushworth, Westbury, Sebastopol, Research, Mt Eliza, Bayswater, Dixons Creek, Bittern, Trentham, Malmsbury, Boronia and Anglesea!
