Wye River shed fire
The cause of a shed fire in Wye River will be investigated today.
CFA was called to the incident in Karingal Drive about 7.15am where a 3 x 3 metre shed attached to a carport was fully alight.
District 6 Operations Officer Byron Kershaw said while the shed and carport had been totally destroyed, crews managed to stop the fire spreading to the house.
“There was no-one home at the time so fortunately there were also no cars in the carport,” he said.
“The shed has been totally destroyed and as a result there was a fair bit of smoke in the area.”
It took about 40 minutes to bring the fire under control with crews from Wye River, Apollo Bay and Lorne attending.
