Wyndham Vale Celebrates 5 year anniversary
Wyndham Vale Fire Brigade are celebrating their 5 year anniversary since the formation of the brigade in July 2011.
With a membership of 74 overall (current and previous), the brigade have responded to approximately 1400 incidents so far.
Like all newly formed brigades, Wyndham Vale has certainly faced their own challenges.
Usually these relate to recruiting members from the community to join, raising funds or building the brigade’s identity. However for Wyndham Vale, recruitment and solidifying their identity within the community been such an issue, largely due to the fact that the Brigade resides within the fastest growing municipality in the State of Victoria – City of Wyndham.
The brigade are currently working with the District and wider CFA towards securing a new fire station to house all of its members (both current and future) and appropriate appliances to meet the service delivery requirements of a growing community.
Captain Trevor Weston commented “The past five years have flown by very quickly and as a Brigade; we have certainly achieved a lot in a short space of time. Our current focus as a Brigade is certainly towards the future and it is through the unwavering dedication of our members that is ensuring that future will continue to be extremely successful”.
District 14 would like to congratulate the brigade who should be extremely proud to reach this milestone.
Wyndham Vale Fire Brigade are often characterised by others as having a vibrant culture and are commended on the professionalism they display at every CFA activity or incident.
