Yallourn Power Station fire
CFA and Estate Services crews responded to a minor fire in the crusher house of Yallourn W Power Station just before 8.20 pm Monday 3 November.
On-site workers immediately activated fixed deluge systems to prevent the spread of fire.
CFA responded with a standard response with units from Morwell, Yallourn North, Newborough and the Traralgon Ladder Platform snorkel unit and 30 firefighters.
Crews extinguished the remaining hot spots wearing breathing apparatus.
Power generation was reduced for a short period as a precaution due to work around the conveyor systems that supply coal to the power station.
Full generation has since recommenced and there is no impact to the generation output of the power station.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
There were no injuries as a result of this fire.
