The annual conference sees more than 3000 people come together to discuss the latest in research, learnings and practice across emergency management and natural hazards.
This year’s conference theme was Changing Lives in a Changing World.
Staff from CFA’s Volunteer Sustainability Team (VST) presented at the conference with CEO Paul Smith, CO Steve Warrington and DCO Gavin Freeman hosting break-out sessions.
VST’s Kimberley Jane Taylor spoke about the District 24 Flexible Volunteering Pilot, which provides the means for brigades to bring in new brigade roles and skill sets including offering project-based roles.
Kerry Laurie spoke about brigade viability and using data to identify risks and improve service delivery.
