CFA was the beneficiary of a generous neighbour late last year, when a selfless member of the community sold his land to CFA so that the new Edithvale Fire Station could be built. And just over a month ago a man in Belmont heard a smoke alarm next door and dialled Triple Zero (000), saving his neighbour’s life.
There can be no doubting the importance of having good neighbours, in both urban and rural settings. That’s why on Sunday 31 March, we’re celebrating Neighbour Day.
CFA, SES and Red Cross recognise that Victorians who have strong relationships with their neighbours are more likely to help one another and have better outcomes when faced with emergencies.
The Neighbour Day Challenge is designed as a fun, practical opportunity for CFA members, staff and members of the community to walk-the-walk and connect with their own neighbours.
