Members and their partners have been treated to a day out at the 2019 Australian Open in recognition of their contribution to the CFA and their communities.

Delicious refreshments and a bird’s eye view of some of the world’s biggest tennis stars were just a couple of the perks that 10 volunteers and their partners were treated to at this year’s event at Rod Laver Arena.

Nominations for the event were put forward by each of the districts to recognise members who had achieved something significant over the course of the past 12 months or demonstrated outstanding commitment to CFA values, and who may not have received much in the way of recognition or appreciation.

The event was supported by Delaware North Companies Australia, with the company opening up its super box for the fifth time to thank CFA members in style.

“We spent the day being wined, dined, interviewed, photographed and well looked after by Alen and Roz from CFA as well as the staff of corporate box owners Delaware North,” Dundas Group Officer Steve Lewis said.

“None of us had been in a corporate box before, making for a really great day at the tennis.

“I know every volunteer really enjoyed the day. Sharing the day with our partners meant they were being acknowledged as a special part of the CFA team as well - that really made the day a success.”

CFA Deputy Chief Officer Alen Slijepcevic, who attended the event on behalf of the Chief Officer, said it was great to be able to show thanks to some amazing CFA members.

“All these people went above and beyond for their local area, and we’re truly thankful,” said Alen.

“It was great to spend time with the group and share the great hospitality and fantastic tennis.”
