Cardinia brigade's latest truck is for the kids

Brigade Support Officer Lisa Hicks approached Cardinia Men’s Shed late last year hoping they could build a mini fire truck prop to be used to entertain children at Cardinia brigade events.

Ken Hordern (the coordinator of wood working programs at Cardinia Men’s Shed) and a number of other men went to work to design and create a fantastic fire truck that looked even better than Lisa imagined.

Recently CFA staff enjoyed a morning tea with members of Cardinia Men’s Shed and officially handed over our newest vehicle to the fleet.

The little truck - yet to be named - is already in high demand and will be a fantastic addition to Cardinia brigade's family.

This project has been another fine example of volunteer organisations working together to foster positive relationships in our community.

This project was possible thanks to funding from the CFA Volunteer Sustainability Team.
