Several CFA brigades helped rescue a truck driver from his vehicle after it plunged off Bass Highway bridge on Wednesday.
Bass Group Officer Damien O'Connor said brigades from Bass, Kernot and San Reno had helped rescue the driver who was trapped in the truck's cabin, which landed on the river bank while the back of the was in the water.
Hallam and Wonthaggi Hazmat units also attended to contain diesel leaking into the river. The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has been notified.
