Food drive to support CFA families in the north-east

Following this year's failed harvest and drought conditions, brigades from District 13 have shown their support for District 22 members by organising a food drive.

On Saturday 24 November, District 22 members were humbled and appreciative to receive 53 food hampers (3 tonnes of food and essentials) from a food drive carried out in District 13 to support CFA families that are doing it hard. It was a very uplifting day.

With help from local groups from Moira and City of Greater Shepparton catchments, the supplies were packaged up and will be distributed to CFA families who need and deserve a hand.

Our District 22 CFA members are proud to care for their community, and they are not used to being cared for. But they are really grateful that the outer metro brigades have shown appreciation for the work done by CFA's country members by organising the food drive, and that their peers are thinking about them in harder times.

This is another good example of CFA's spirit being alive and well.
