Update from Chief Officer Jason Heffernan

Further to my advice regarding District Championships and running events, this naturally extends to the CFA State Championships.

Update

This year, the State Urban Junior Championships will be held on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 March and the joint Urban Senior and Rural Junior/Senior Championships takes place the following weekend on 27 and 28 March 2021. Both events will be held in Mooroopna and planning has been well underway for what I am sure will be a great event.

Like all other aspects of CFA, the COVID pandemic has changed how we do business, and events such as these are no different. The organising committees are working very closely with the Pandemic Management Team, and other key stakeholders such as DHHS to ensure the State Championship events are COVID compliant and the health and wellbeing of our members remains paramount.

It should be noted that this year, the State Championships will be a closed event to the broader community with attendance only being permitted by CFA members and their families, officials and other authorised people. I hold anticipation that the 2022 Championships will once more allow an opportunity for our communities to share in these events with our members.

Further information will be available in coming weeks. For more information and to stay up to date regarding the State Championships, including team and individual registration processes, please visit the Championships page on CFA Online.
