Urban Junior 2021 State Championships

This weekend the 2021 State Championships kick off in Mooroopna with the Urban Juniors.

Urban

Gates open at 7am for CFA members and their families, and the official opening ceremony starts at 8.30am.

The 2021 State Championships is a closed event with only CFA members and their immediate families permitted.

The Urban Juniors will be split into two categories: Under 14s and Under 17s.

On Saturday 20 March, Junior competition events will run all day and include Wet Hose, Marshall, Hydrant and Coupling races.

On day two, Sunday 21 March, competition events kick off at 8.30am and include Hose, Coup, Hydrant and Marshall races.

The closing ceremony will be held just after 1pm where winners will be announced and presented with trophies.

A corporate tent and training activities will be open throughout the weekend with representation from a wide range of teams from across the organisation. The championships will also host a children’s entertainment area and trade display.

The local Mooroopna Football and Netball Clubs will be assisting with catering and we will also have a number of onsite food vans so attendees don’t have to leave the site throughout the day.

CFA and VFBV have done an immense amount of planning to ensure that its members and other attendees are safe and a number of practices and procedures will be in place. View a full list on Members Online.

As the 2021 State Firefighter Championships is a child-related event, attendees aged 18 and over will be required to have, and carry on them, a current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

The Senior Rural, Senior Urban and Junior Rural State Championships will be held on the following weekend, 27 and 28 March at the same location.

Volunteer Programs Leader (Youth) Jen Clement said The Junior Championships are a great way to engage and celebrate our younger members.

“We are excited to see what our Junior members can do," Jen said. “Our Junior members train really hard and this is a great chance for them to get involved and showcase some of their skills.

"It’s also a great opportunity for them to find out more about CFA and just what opportunities are out there."
