On Saturday 26 November 2016, Marong Fire Brigade (District 2) celebrated a huge milestone. The Brigade was recognised for over 500 years of combined service to CFA with various awards being presented to members.

On Saturday 26 November 2016, Marong Fire Brigade (D02) celebrated a huge milestone. The Brigade was recognised for over 500 years of combined service to CFA with various awards being presented to members.
Emergency Management Commissioner Craig Lapsley, ACO Gavin Thompson and Operations Officer Bruce Quarrier presented National Medals and National Emergency Medals.
VFBV Board Member Samantha Rothman presented Gold Star Awards.
The weather was perfect and around 200 people attended.
