St Leonards house fire

A holiday house in St Leonards has been completely destroyed in a suspicious late night fire.

St Leonards fire brigade arrived on scene that evening to discover the single storey dwelling well alight, impinging on a fence and threatening a neighbouring property.

The initial crew worked quickly with two exposure lines to protect the side of the neighbouring house until support brigades arrived.

Upon arrival of further brigades, crews in Breathing Apparatus began the attack on the fire.

It took firefighters approximately one hour to control the fire and several more hours to bring the property to a safe condition.

Unfortunately the house was completely destroyed, luckily there was nobody injured.

Crews from Drysdale, Portarlington, Ocean Grove and Corio along with the RDO 7 attended and provided invaluable assistance.

A massive thank you must be extended to all members who attended that night for their hard work.
