People in Kyneton now have access to another defibrillator in the event of an emergency.
The AED unit was purchased by Kyneton Fire Brigade Auxiliary and is located outside the front door of the fire station in Ebden Street.
The Auxiliary nembers raised the funds to purchase the unit which can be accessed by the public around the clock.
Auxiliary President Enid Fielding said the new unit is an important investment for the town.
“Hundreds of people are saved every year by members of the public who grab a nearby defib and provide CPR and first aid,” Enid said.
Kyneton Fire Brigade Captain Greg McIntyre praised the work of the Auxiliary members who also support the local volunteer firefighters during fire emergencies.
“The support of the brigade by the Auxiliary’s hard-working quiet achievers is something that benefits the entire town,” Greg said.
The new defib is ready to go and can be accessed by anyone responding to or helping with an emergency by just opening the cabinet.
