Expressions of interest (EOI) for the Australasian Fire Authorities Council (AFAC) and Emergency Management Conference (EMC) conference are now open.

CFA is supporting volunteers and staff, including FRV secondees to attend the 2021 AFAC and EMC Conferences.

AFAC - Balancing impact and expectations

18 and 19 August 2021 in Sydney (dependent on COVID-19 restrictions)

AFAC21 will focus on how we manage the consequences of major events and meet the expectations of the community and government. The program will explore how the sector can continue to learn and find opportunities to deliver with new and innovative approaches.

For further information, visit the AFAC21 Conference website

In addition to the seven CFA speakers on the AFAC conference program, there are additional positions available for:

  • 1 to 5 volunteers per District
  • 1 employee per Region
  • 3 HQ-based employees

EMC - The only thing that is constant is change: How is emergency management adapting?

4 and 5 October 2021 in Melbourne

With a focus on the Victorian context, the Conference provides a forum for CFA members to directly interact, engage and connect with others to explore topics relevant to their work and to identify synergies and collaboration opportunities.

For further information, visit the 2021 Emergency Management Conference website.

The following number of delegates will be funded in 2021:

  • 27 IMT staff or volunteer members
  • 15 volunteers
