CFA crews attended two house fires this morning (13 March) in Wantirna South and Mooroopna.
Firefighters were called to a house fire at Mosman Close in Wantirna South, around 3.10am.
CFA District 13 Operations Officer Don Tomkins said the fire, in the two storey brick house, was called under control just before 3.30am.
“The owners awoke to a bang in the upstairs bedroom. They had evacuated before CFA crews arrived at the property,” he said.
“The fire was contained to a bedroom and the roof space.”
Five crews from Bayswater, Boronia and Scoresby attended.
Meanwhile, six crews attended a unit fire on Larsen Street in Mooroopna, near Shepparton this morning just after 3am.
The unit was fully involved in fire and extensively damaged. Firefighters had the fire under control by 3.40am.
Crews from Mooroopna and Shepparton attended.
Fire investigators will be at both locations today to help determine the causes.
