The Beaufort Fire Brigade first purchased their own command vehicle, a Toyota Hilux, in 1993 with funds raised through community donations and the servicing of fire extinguishers.
The new vehicle is a Ford Ranger Dual Cab 4x4 with design features including stowage storage, whiteboards, additional 12V charging points with USB chargers, 12V to 240V 1000W invertor, under-tray draw and fire extinguisher. The FCV also boasts vital firefighting cabin accessories including two Tait radios, portable radio charger, siren and UHF.
