Beyondblue bus visiting CFA HQ

Beyondblue has been a key player in raising awareness of depression and anxiety in the Australian community. In 2013, CFA established a Memorandum of Understanding with beyondblue to continue to build a relationship and support
mental health awareness within CFA.

Since then, CFA’s Organisational Wellbeing team has established a marketing and communication plan for mental health awareness and has produced various tools and resources to support this including our HeadsUP online tool kit, mental health video series and Managing Mental Health – Tips from Brigades book.

In February last year, beyondblue began a national roadshow that has been travelling across Australia, visiting hundreds of communities across the 61 Medicare Local regions. Along the way, more than 200 events are being held to encourage all Australians to ‘Take 1 step’ for better mental health.

On Friday 27 March at 11am, beyondblue will be showcasing its National Roadshow tour at CFA's Lakeside Drive HQ in the ‘Big Blue Bus’ next to the Medicare office and Building 4 car park. CFA is supporting this event along with a number of other organisations in the nearby area. A free BBQ will be provided.

This is a great opportunity for CFA members to learn more about mental health and how they can support better mental health for themselves and others in CFA. If you are in the area on the day, please take the time to visit the ‘Big Blue Bus’ to learn more about mental health and enjoy the free BBQ on offer.

In the meantime, please visit www.cfa.vic.gov.au/mentalhealth  to learn more about what CFA is doing to support members to manage their mental health.
