Brigade Sustainability Pilot

The Volunteer Support Program, in conjunction with the Grampians Region, is seeking members to participate in one of six focus group workshops throughout the region as part of the Volunteer Brigade Sustainability in Rural Victoria Project

In December 2014, Intalink Consulting was appointed to conduct research across the Grampians Region into rural decline and its associated effects on brigades and volunteers.

The focus groups follow the success of a volunteer survey conducted throughout Grampians in April this year, which received over 600 responses. The information generated from the focus groups and survey will be used to advance CFA’s support to Brigades in declining communities and assist with the developmentof feedback and self-assessment tools for affected Brigades.

In mid-September, focus groups will be conducted for CFA members in the townships of Ballarat, Beaufort, Natimuk and St Arnaud. Two additional workshops will be held for community representatives (external) in Horsham and Ararat.
