Castlemaine Show Parade

On a glorious night in October Brigades came out to play in the annual Castlemaine & District Agricultural Show Parade.  With this year’s theme 161 years of community.

Castlemaine hosts a parade and fireworks display to kick off the agricultural show each year, with local CFA Brigades participating regularly to display their firefighting capacity to Castlemaine and surrounding communities.

The tankers assembled outside the Old Castlemaine Fire Station, now a funky café and drove along Barkers and Forest Streets before finishing at the Camp Reserve. Other community organisations also take part in the yearly parade.

Vehicles from Castlemaine, Chewton, Campbells Creek and Harcourt could all be seen moving along the parade route with brigade members waving madly to the crowds below.

Thanks to Maryanne and Jo for the photos.
