On Tuesday 28 November, Morwell Neighbourhood House put on a special event to celebrate Social Inclusion Week.
The day was about encouraging communities to reconnect and be inclusive of all cultures, age groups, nationalities and the disadvantaged.
Social Inclusion Week aims to help Australians feel valued and to give people the opportunity to participate fully in society. It’s about connecting with local communities, workmates, family and friends to build relationships and networks, but the main theme is to provide an opportunity for community members to engage with one another and foster a sense of belonging.
The day was supported by EW Tipping Foundation Morwell, GippSport, Lifeline Gippsland, EMV, Morwell Fire Brigade and District 8 Community Safety team.
Those who attended had the opportunity to play games and activities, pat an alpaca, spend time with Rohan, Andrew and Glenn looking over the fire truck and squirting water. the event finished with a prepared lunch.
The day was very successful and community members enjoyed themselves.
