District 4 morning tea to celebrate women

By Simone Kinross

With International Women’s Day being held on Sunday 8 March, CFA's District 4 headquarters held a morning tea to celebrate the members in the district.

A number of CFA members attended, representing a range of brigades and role within CFA.

The morning was a low key event with a guest speaker being CFA volunteer and Warrnambool Councillor Jacinta Ermacora. There was a great round table chat with stories about CFA roles that we carry out, why we joined, and what the future holds for women in CFA.

This chat showed what an amazing group of women we have and pointed to ways we can help develop and recruit brigade members. And there's a variety of important roles in a brigade, not just fighting fires.
