Melburnians thinking about a move to regional Victoria have the chance to talk one on one with CFA about career firefighter recruitment or bushfire safety at Jeff's Shed this weekend (May 2-3) as part of the Regional Living Expo.
The Regional Living Expo, now in its third year, is a free event being held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre in Southbank, Melbourne.
The event is aimed at Melbourne residents and businesses considering relocating to regional and rural Victoria, and includes promotion of specific job and career opportunities.
CFA's Career Firefighter Recruitment team will be available to answer questions about what is involved in firefighting as a full-time job, as part of a current campaign to recruit more firefighters .
Community safety specialists - both staff and volunteer- will also be on hend to talk about:
- planning and building regulations in high-risk bushfire areas
- vegetation management - landscaping for bushfire
- how to prepare a property for the summer fire season
Approximately 130 exhibitors and over 10,000 attendees will take part.
