Fire at Christian College in Geelong

A fire has caused major damage to part of Christian College Senior Campus in Geelong.

CFA was called to an incident at Christian College Senior Campus in Pigdon Rd, Waurn Ponds at 10pm last night. 

Belmont Fire Brigade arrived on the scene first to find the school's administration building was well alight.

Further resources responded from Geelong City, Grovedale and Highton.

Multiple crews with breathing apparatus attempted to extinguish the fire in the main administration building, while trying to protect part of the school library and other structures.

Geelong City Operations Officer Brendan Lawson said: "there was significant damage to the administration area and staff amenities". 

"The cause is undetermined at this stage and CFA fire investigators will continue to determine the cause later today.

"Christian College have contacted all parents and students regarding the fire and the senior campus will be closed today, until further notice."

The fire took 1 hour 45 minutes to bring under control.
