CFA crews bring fire under control in Ferntree Gully

An empty house has been destroyed by fire in Ferntree Gully this morning.

CFA crews were called out to the residence on The Avenue following a call at 10.39am.

11 CFA appliances responded to the call including 4 pumpers and 2 tankers. The house has been totally gutted with a neighbouring property suffering damage. 

The incident was brought under control at 11.40am.

Residents from neighbouring properties were evacuated.

Police and Ambulance Victoria attended the scene as a precaution however nil injuries have been reported.

A fire investigator will attend later with a cause yet to be determined.
