CFA Get Moving Physical Activity Challenge 2017

It’s time to slip on your sneakers and prepare yourself for this year’s annual Get Moving Challenge!

This year marks the 4th consecutive year we will be running the organisation-wide physical activity competition, and we would love to have you on board again for our biggest and best challenge yet!

Get Moving brings together members in a friendly challenge that aims to motivate everyone to improve our day-to-day physical activity habits. This year we have more great prizes up for grabs, as well as the perpetual shields for the ‘Highest District Participation’, ‘Highest Step Count - Team’ and ‘Highest Step Count – Individual’.

Last year saw 101 teams entered with over 800 members participating. This year we are aiming big! Can we register 1000 participants? We think so! Start spreading the word and organise a team for your office/brigade now!

Team details

Teams will once again be made up of 5-10 members. Multiple teams from the same brigade or office can be entered. Each team will require a Team Captain who will be the contact point between us and your team. All teams will need a funky name too, so be creative!

Competition dates & challenges

The competition begins on Monday 2nd October and will run for 6 weeks through until Sunday 12th November. Throughout the challenge there will be weekly step goals to achieve that will put you into the draw for some cool prizes. Each week will also focus on a particular aspect of health as part of our weekly challenges!

Get decked out with Brooks Running and Garmin!

This year we are proudly supported by Brooks Running & Garmin. BrooksRunning have generously donated prizes as well as providing all members with a 25% discount across their performance clothing and accessories! Garmin have once again kindly provided a 20% discount for all of their ‘wearable’ devices for this year’s challenge. This gives everyone a fantastic opportunity to get fitted out in all of the latest gear at a great price!

Bring your own device!

Due to unpopular feedback from previous years’, we will not be providing pedometers for this year’s challenge. Instead, we ask that everyone pull out your smart phones or already owned activity monitors/pedometers to bring to the challenge.
