CFA highlights International Women's Day 2015

Since early last century women and men around the globe celebrate International Women’s Day each year on March 8. In the last few years, CFA members around the state enthusiastically join these international celebrations.

This year one of many such events happened in the stunning surrounds of Lake Weeroona in Bendigo, where Emergency Services Organisations joined forces with Local Governments and community groups to acknowledge the work women do in keeping our communities safe.

‘Staying Safe: Making it Happen, Women in Emergency Services’, was coordinated by the CFA NWR Brigade Sustainability Team in partnership with SES; DELWP, City of Greater Bendigo, Macedon Ranges Shire Council, Mount Alexander Shire Council and Loddon Mallee Women’s Health.

Attended by ESO and community members, and with an impressive line-up of speakers, the event gave all involved an opportunity to come together to highlight the importance of women’s participation.
