Emergency services were called to an incident at Blue Lake Circuit in Plenty Gorge just after 3pm on Saturday.

CFA volunteer firefighters from Plenty Fire Brigade responded with the brigade’s tanker, pumper tanker and rescue truck. They were supported by CFA support personnel and vehicles, and by VICSES, Fire Rescue Victoria, VicPol and Ambulance Victoria.

Emergency services established a 46-year-old woman had suffered a medical episode along a steeper part of the walking track and was unable to climb up by herself.

Paramedics were able to assess and support her, before she was retrieved by CFA and VICSES volunteers using a stokes litter to haul her up the hill, where she was handed into the care of Ambulance Victoria for further assessment and care about 4.15pm.
