CFA member dies at private burn-off

CFA Acting Chief Officer Steve Warrington has expressed his deepest sympathies to the family and colleagues of a CFA member who died in an incident in Victoria’s north-west this afternoon.

The man, aged in his 60s, is believed to have succumbed to a medical condition while helping a friend to conduct a private burn-off in Berriwillock, west of Swan Hill.

Brigades were then called to help bring the fire under control around 4.20pm. The man was not on active duty when he died.

Support has been offered to all CFA members affected by the tragic death.
