CFA's mobile engagement unit and educators from the South East Region team passed on fire safety messages to over 2,000 people from Maffra and surrounding communities on 19 December.
The CFA MEU (mobile engagement unit) was a great space to engage community members.
The South East Region Community Safety team and the mobile engagement unit partnered with the Maffra Fire Brigade to attend the festival following great success at the 2017 event. The bus provided a quiet space for families to discuss their personal fire plans, basic household safety and seek further information about CFA.
The education team lost count after engaging with 2,000 people who came onto the bus with a range of questions.
Maffra is a small country town surrounded by small farming communities so it's rewarding to support such an important annual event of this scale.
