CFA Open Day 2015

This year brigades are once again asked to open their doors to the community between September and December for CFA Open Day. It’s a chance for Victorians to have fun with CFA members, and for brigades to unite.  Last year, more than 235 brigades opened their doors to the public.

We’re encouraging brigades to get out and about in their community – open your station doors or take CFA Open Day to local markets, town halls, parks, shopping precincts or anywhere else that works for you.

Brigades can host a CFA Open Day event with a theme that is most relevant to them, such as:

  •                Summer or home fire safety
  •                Recruitment
  •                Brigade information
  •                Fire training activities demonstrations
  •                Kids activities
  •                Fundraising

There’s already lots of materials available on the Template Toolkit to help brigades get the message out there.  You can find this information here or via the homepage of the intranet or Brigades online under Docs, Forms, Manuals, then selecting ‘Template toolkit’, ‘Marketing Materials’ and scrolling to the ‘CFA Open Day Promotional Materials’ button.

The Event Material Booking System in the Template Toolkit has been updated and materials have been made available from CFA banners, CFA flags, fire danger rating sign etc. From September a new trailer will be available to make transport of these items easier.

Participating brigades will get some funding to help make the day the best it can be – simply register and report back on your event.

Register online at cfa.vic.gov.au/about/cfa-open-day/   6 weeks prior to your event to allow for sufficient promotion.

So get on board and help make CFA Open Day a day to remember!
