Come down and support us at Ritchies this weekend

We’re two weeks into our promotion with Ritchies and brigades have been out the front of Ritchies stores running barbecues/education stands and educating the community about fire safety.

This weekend, the Mt Eliza brigade will be at its local store cooking up snags and handing out fire safety information.

Since the Community Benefit Card program began in the area, the brigade has received more than $80,000 from the program.

First Lieutenant Brodie White said with the generous support of the Ritchies Community Benefit Program and government grants, the brigade was able to purchase a thermal imaging camera (TIC).

“Valued at $15,000, the TIC will enable firefighters to better identify slow-burning fires and hotspots during the extinguishing process, particularly those hidden behind walls and in confined areas. Other uses include search and rescue and hazardous materials incidents.”

"In my 10 years at Mt Eliza brigade, we have had a steady stream of financial support from the Ritchies’ Community Benefit Program. I have no doubt that we would not be as well-equipped today without their ongoing support.”

Other brigades out in force this weekend include: Edithvale, Bairnsdale, Wooragee, Camperdown, Mt Eliza, Rowville, Sale, Somerville and Yarrawonga,  so come along and support your local brigade.
