Dale Russell recognised with 30 year service award

“Congratulations on 30 years of service Dale. During this time you have performed diligent service for the community and been a senior leader within our great organisation.”

On Thursday 25 June 2015, Operations Manager District 17 Dale Russell was presented with a 30 year CFA service award by Deputy Chief Officer John Haynes at a Ballarat forum for CFA West staff.

Dale's service to the CFA began in 1984 as a young man whose family moved in next door to the local CFA group officer, a move which would shape his future career path.

Dale says, “I began loitering around the Shepparton Fire Station with the group officer."

Dale officially signed up as a volunteer in March 1985.  Dale’s CFA career began in June 1986 as Assistant Regional Officer at CFA headquarters and he has held numerous positions in different departments.

Dale moved to the Wimmera in 1996 when he was appointed as District 17 Training Manager.  In 1998 he became Operations Manager, the position he still holds today with passion and a severe dedication.

Peter O’Keefe, Assistant Chief Officer, West Region said, “Congratulations on 30 years of service. Dale. During this time you have performed diligent service for the community and been a senior leader within our great organisation.”
