Dandenong South fire

CFA responded to a building fire at an industrial waste site in Dandenong South around 8.35am on Sunday, 11 October.

The Ordish Road fire, involved a shed, around 60x30 metres, located at the rear of the premises.

Incident Controller Glen Proebstl said the shed contained materials which were being stored ready for disposal.

“Around 50 per cent of the shed was saved thanks to the great work by crews. The other 50 per cent was gone prior to our arrival.”

Crews are overhauling the premises to ensure the area is extinguished.

An Advice message was issued due to big plumes of black smoke in the area.

Firefighters from Dandenong, Frankston and Springvale attended. EPA and police also attended.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.
