Festival to thank CFA volunteers

To thank CFA volunteers who helped with the response to last year’s Wyperfield National Park fire, there’s a festival at Rainbow on Saturday 28 March.

The Mallee Fire Recovery Festival, at Federal Street, Rainbow (north of Nhill), is being funded by the Department of State Development & Business Innovation under the 2014 Bushfire Recovery Community Events Package, with support from Hindmarsh Shire Council.

There will be a particular focus on thanking CFA volunteers for their efforts. More than 100 brigades from across Victoria gave their support to fight the Mallee Complex fire.

The festival will feature live music, a bushfire photograph display, CFA and classic car displays and a jumping castle. Entry is by gold coin donation.

Hindmarsh Shire Council would like a large number of CFA members and their families to enjoy this relaxing event, which can double as an end of fire season get-together.

For more information visit the Mallee Fire Recovery Festival Facebook page, or phone the council on 5391 4444.
