CFA crews were called to reports of a house fire on McFarland Street, Bacchus Marsh earlier this week, arriving on scene to find a brick house well alight.
Supported by Fire Rescue Victoria, firefighters worked to get the blaze under control in just over half an hour.
CFA issued an Advice message to warn the local community due to smoke in the area.
The scene was declared safe at 1:53am.
CFA will assist Victoria Police with their investigation.
