CFA was called to a unit fire in Marley Street at around 12.15pm on 9 November, 2020.

Firefighters did a great job in containing the fire to the stove area.

The unit had a working smoke alarm which alerted the two occupants to the fire so they were able to escape unharmed.

They were both treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire was under control by 12.30pm.

The cause of the fire was cooking left unattended.

Three CFA trucks attended the incident.

Sale firefighters said it was great to see this family had a working smoke alarm which alerted them to the fire.

However it is also a timely reminder to never leave cooking unattended.
