Fiskville Inquiry to continue hearing evidence

The 14th session of the public hearings of the Victorian Parliament’s Inquiry into the Fiskville Training College was held yesterday with two witnesses providing evidence to the committee.

Jeff Green, CFA’s Manager of Occupational Health and Safety, and former CFA Chief Executive Officer Mick Bourke appeared at the hearing.

CFA CEO Lucinda Nolan and CFA Acting Chair John Peberdy were also scheduled to appear, however due to a delay in the start of the scheduled hearing, the Committee’s Chair Bronwyn Halfpenny adjourned the session late in the day and said another hearing would be scheduled for a later date.

More than 70 witnesses have so far been called before the Inquiry to give evidence.

The Environment, Natural Resources and Regional Development Committee is a joint investigatory committee of the Parliament of Victoria. The Committee was formed on 21 April 2015.

About 470 submissions have been submitted for examination by the Committee.
