Glenmaggie brigade and Heyfield RSL members

On Sunday 10 September, Glenmaggie Fire Brigade opened its doors to host more than 30 Heyfield RSL members and their families for the annual get-together.

After a run of bad weather, the wind stopped and the sun came out to become a perfect day for a barbecue. Plenty of snags, hamburgers, drinks for the kids and even some drinks for the bigger kids! All supplied, with thanks, by the RSL.

RSL President Greg MacKenzie joined with brigade Captain Peter Dymond in welcoming and thanking everyone for coming to the fire station. It was a great opportunity for the two groups to come together and discuss upcoming RSL events, fire safety and the importance of our community groups working together.

Captain Dymond said, "Our doors are always open for community groups to hold meetings or functions at the fire station".

Everyone had a very enjoyable day and had a good look around the station even having a go on the end of a hose from the tanker.
