CFA & Forest Fire Management Victoria(FFMVic) crews responded to the incident on the Princes Highway shortly after 11am this morning.

District 06 Operations Officer Peter Lowe said the fire is in difficult rocky terrain and steep cliff faces which is restricting firefighter’s access to the fire.

“Three aircraft are assisting CFA & FFMVic crews with the firefight. Two dozers are currently working to set up containment lines,” Mr Lowe said.

“The fire is slow spreading, travelling in a south easterly direction and is not yet under control.

“The fire is approximately three to four hectares in size.

“Firefighters will be on scene for an extended period of time.”
