This morning (17 August) CFA crews were called to help rescue a driver who veered off a road into a steep embankment in Toora.
Crews were notified of the incident at Silcocks Hill Road at 8.30am.
The delicate operation included CFA, Victoria Police, SES and Ambulance Victoria.
District 9 Operations Officer Bill Alards said all agencies worked together to safely rescue the man who had been stuck in the embankment since the early hours of the morning.
“The occupant managed to pull himself from the vehicle and was located below his car when crews arrived,” Bill said. “The crew’s first concern was the male’s condition, and stabilising the vehicle was a priority to ensure the rescue of the patient was done so safely.
“The steep incline of the hill made for a more difficult task, but was handled well by all involved.
“CFA, Victoria Police, SES and Ambulance Victoria operated as a team to ensure a safe and successful rescue.
“The male was left in the hands of paramedics who transported the patient to hospital.
