The incident occurred around 2.30pm on Saturday, 26 September at the Aquapulse leisure centre on Derrimut Rd, Hoppers Crossing.

Firefighters attending the scene were told the children had been affected by fumes while using the water slide. They were treated by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

Three trucks from Hoppers Crossing as well as one from Point Cook attended the incident. A specialist, hazardous material crew from Corio was also called in.

Firefighters isolated the waterslide and believe the cause to be imbalanced treatment of the water.
