Hoppers Crossing home flooded

CFA has helped to stem the flow of water from a burst main as it threated to flood homes in Hoppers Crossing this afternoon.

Crews were called to Guinane Avenue at 3.20pm after a water pipe burst in a residential driveway.

Hoppers Crossing Senior Station Officer Ross Crompton said crews worked to stem the flow until the main could be turned off.

“There were two properties under threat,” he said.

“One house has been subject to minor flooding inside, while there was significant flooding outside the homes.

“We used tarps to protect the premises and direct the water into drains.”

The water main was switched off around 3.30pm.

Two crews from Hoppers Crossing attended.
