House destroyed in Epping

A house in Epping has been destroyed by fire this afternoon.

CFA was called to the Cavalier Court home just before 3pm.

The fire produced a fair amount of smoke in the area.

Firefighters controlled the fire within 15 minutes but unfortunately 80 per cent of the house was damaged.

It’s believed no one was home at the time of the fire.

A building surveyor has been called in because of structural damage.

The cause is unknown at this stage and a fire investigator will attend the scene later today.

Three CFA trucks from Epping and South Morang, along with one MFB truck, attended the scene.
