Huntly Fire Brigade, in partnership with Bendigo Northern District Community Enterprise and the local Landcare group, has created a fire resistant garden at the front of the new fire station.
The community will be able to view and get information about indigenous plants and gardens that will resist the threat of fire around their homes and properties.
Each plant species has an informative plaque describing its individual features and there is a large plaque describing the overall theme of the garden.
