Injured cyclist rescue at Aireys Inlet

Emergency services have located a female cyclist who fell off her bike down an embankment on the Currawong Falls walking track at Aireys Inlet.

Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, Parks Victoria, SES and CFA were working together for an hour to locate the woman.

She was found approximately 20 metres down an embankment.

District 7 Duty Officer Wayne Aylmer said a rope rescue will need to be performed to rescue the woman who has sustained back and shoulder injuries and possible broken ribs.

“It’s about a 30 minute walk down the track to reach the woman so it’s a delicate rescue which could take some time,” he said.

CFA crews from Aireys Inlet, Anglesea, Geelong and Apollo Bay are on scene.
