In 2011, the Jones Report of Inquiry into the Effect of Arrangements made by CFA on its Volunteers was tabled.
In response to the Jones report, CFA developed a broad implementation action plan.
We are now two years into the implementation of the Jones recommendations. A video posted on CFA TV provides an update on the initiatives that have been rolled out, including the following examples:
- Upgrade of Victorian Emergency Management Training Campuses located at Wangaratta, Longerenong, Penshurst, Huntly and West Sale
- Establishment of a new training campus at Sunraysia
- Unified approach to training
- First joint CFA/MFB recruit training course
- F&EM Roles & Pathways Map
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- Revised Brigade Operational Skills Profile (BOSP)
- New “Who can Train and Assess?” poster and DVD
- Additional mobile props
- New Off-Road Driver Training Facilities
- Tools and Resources developed to support the recruitment and retention of members
- Brigade Sustainability Pilot
- Wellbeing Pilot
- District Volunteerism Pilot
